Personalized, Interactive and Collaborative Learning for Year 6 Radstock Students

Students from Radcock Primary School examine the Nokia N810, used as part of SANAKO Study Mobile. The students use the device alongside a learning platform in a personalised learning program.
Year 6 students at Radstock Primary School are involved in a PIC learning project. PIC means Personalized, Interactive and Collaborative.

The goal of the project is to improve learning outcomes by personalizing learning with the use of interactive devices, and encouraging collaboration.

The young students have been working with the Nokia N800 and N810 along with interactive whiteboards and a learning platform (VLE or Virtual Learning Environment) to enhance traditional classroom learning.

The handheld devices are used by the year 6 students to collect information, which is then uploaded to their collective learning platform. The sum total of their efforts can be viewed on the students’ personal devices or on the class interactive whiteboard. The program also allows the students to evaluate their own output as well as the work of others.

Year 6 Class Teacher Phillip Griffin visited the SANAKO stand with a group of the youngsters during BETT. He was particularly interested in SANAKO Study Mobile, which he said could support the PIC learning project, by allowing teachers to better manage student usage of the Nokia devices.
