Jacques Denies of Microsoft School Technology Innovation Centers visits SANAKO at BETT 2009
Microsoft enjoyed a significant presence at the opening of BETT 2009 on Wednesday 14. Apart from the events taking place at center stage on the Microsoft booth, other Microsoft officials were surfing the exhibition as they kept an eye on the pulse of new developments in the education sector.

Speaking with SANAKO, Mr. Denies said that Microsoft has developed a number of programs to help schools integrate technology into their learning programs. Programs such the Innovative Schools program and the School Technology Innovation Centers set up mentor schools which can inspire other institutions to address how they use technology for learning.
Denies added however, that it is not Microsoft’s intention to dominate the market by independently offering solutions for technology integration. The company values partnering with other solution providers to help schools in this way:
